FAMILY LAW SOLICTORS
The divorce process can be overwhelming and we aim to reduce the emotional effects of divorce and separation by acting firmly and decisively. We seek to limit the divorce cost by encouraging people to reach agreement if possible. There are various options open to people when they divorce and it is important to understand the difference and work out which route is most appropriate for your circumstances and budget.

FIXED FEE DIVORCE ADVICE
If you simply wish to instruct a barrister – we can advise you on the differing quality of those available and those who will take direct instructions. Our solicitors do carry out a lot of advocacy, that is, court representation themselves. We normally only instruct barristers for Final Hearings when cross examination is involved. However, if you wish to instruct us for one off advice and for us to recommend a barrister to represent you we are happy to do this.

INTERNATIONAL FAMILY LAW
We represent a lot of people from abroad – via email and telephone and it is possible to have a telephone link for court hearings to prevent people having to travel. We also offer Mediation via telephone link for separating couples who live far apart from each other.

If one of you lives abroad you will need advice swiftly as to the most suitable country to get divorced in and whether you have a choice. It is important to act swiftly.

CHILD ABDUCTION
We also advise people in matters of child abduction and speed is often an essential part of resolving such disputes. We represent people on Hague Convention and Wardship applications and have a good source of specialist barrister experts.

MEDIATION
There is no longer Legal Aid available for most Divorce applications in England and Wales and the Government is seeking to encourage people to mediate instead. Mediation can be a successful and cost effective route but it is important to remember to get legal advice prior and during Mediation. We can offer advice on a fixed fee basis on how to negotiate your way through Mediation.

DIVORCE WORKSHOPS
We run Divorce Workshops to help you decide how to proceed and understand whether you can arrange your own Divorce and Matrimonial Finances. Divorce Workshops will also help you avoid the pitfalls when you first plan to separate.
